Hi my name is Matt Gutteridge. I have been a fourth grade teacher with Hartland Schools for my entire teaching career. This will be my eleventh year on the job. I graduated with a BA in History in 2003 from the University of Tennessee. I also received my Masters degree in Elementary Education from The University of Tennessee. I am very involved in the Hartland Community. I coach both Track and Cross Country at the high school.
I currently live just up the road in Fenton with my beautiful Kara. Kara is also involved in the Hartland community. She teaches 5th grade at Farms Intermediate and helps coach the cross country team with me when she isn't chasing our 11 month old son Joe around. We attend Shepard of the Lakes Lutheran Church in Brighton as well. I grew up in Grand Blanc. My parents moved into the house they still live in on my first birthday. Both of my parents are exceptional educators and led me down this path. My mother is a retired teacher and spent much of her career at North Road Elementary in Fenton. My father taught everything from Kindergarten to Seventh grade throughout his career and spent most of it in Fenton as well. Before retiring he spent his last three years as an Elementary Principal in Romeo. I have a younger brother and sister who both have successful careers. My sister taught seventh and eighth grade Tech Ed in Grand Blanc before getting married and moving to Madison, Wi. She has two beautiful children that we love to visit!! My brother is Pulmonary Critical Care doctor practicing at University of Indiana-Indianapolis. |
